Winding through lodgepole pines, around sage meadows and across a nine-acre lake, this par-72 course features slight elevation changes and many bunkers. Chef Malarkey brings much to the Ranch Golf Course opening event including his love of seafood. A native of Oregon, Chef Brian Malarkey grew up inspired by the cooking of his grandmother, in her beach house kitchen where she was often joined by her old friend James Beard. Brian expanded his skill set at Western Culinary Institute's Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Portland. Since finishing school, Brian has excelled as Executive Chef and Operating Partner of Oceanaire’s in San Diego, a restaurant that has received more than 60 industry awards.
Highlights of Malarkey’s career thus far include being selected as a contestant on Bravo’s Emmy-nominated culinary series in 2007, “Top Chef 3 Miami.” Malarkey competed against 15 of the countries best chefs and advanced to the final round gaining national recognition for his culinary talents. Since his time on “Top Chef,” Malarkey has made numerous appearances on subsequent seasons of the show and was most recently featured in episode eight of season four preparing dinner for the Real Housewives of Orange County.
