01 November 2013
Keystone, Colo. — Nov. 1, 2013— Keystone Resort got a little help from Mother Nature today in celebration of the start of the 2013-14 season at the Summit County, Colo. resort. Four inches of fresh snow fell overnight Thursday, providing powder conditions for anxious skiers and riders who began the day with first chair at 9 a.m. Keystone debuted with 65 acres of skiing and riding including top-to-bottom intermediate terrain on the Spring Dipper and River Run trails, four lifts and more than 20 features in the early season A51 Terrain Park.
Guests fueled-up for the day with warm donuts and hot chocolate from Keystone’s renowned pastry chef Ned Archibald, and the first 200 skiers and riders in line for first chair were entered in a raffle for great prizes including a GoPro Hero 3, a Never Summer snowboard and Keystone logo wear. Keystone thanked guests for their early season patronage with free parking across the resort Friday, which will continue through Sunday at all resort lots. Following the on-snow festivities today and tomorrow, skiers and riders can enjoy the Get Stoked movie festival at Warren Station, located in the heart of Keystone’s River Run Village, featuring some of the year’s best ski and snowboard films.
Friday also marked the official return of Keystone’s signature Kids Ski Free offer. Once again, children 12 and under receive free lift tickets with just a two or more night stay in any of Keystone’s owned/operated lodging units. Keystone’s offer is as simple as childhood itself, without any red tape or restrictions; there are no blackout dates, giving families the freedom to take advantage of the special deal on weekends and throughout holiday periods, a rarity in the ski industry. Last season the resort provided more than 25,000 Kids Ski Free lift tickets and Keystone is proud to continue the industry’s simplest and most valuable Kids Ski Free program for a second year in a row. Reservations may be made at Keystoneresort.com or by calling 800-328-1323.
Keystone is now open for daily operations with lifts running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Updated conditions reports, live web cams and the events calendar may be found online at Keystoneresort.com. Lift tickets may also be purchased online at keystoneresort.com.
