KEYSTONE, Colo. — May 3, 2012, 2012 — As winter quickly clears in the high country the Keystone River Course is scheduled to open Saturday, May 5 with the course’s front nine available for play. This marks the earliest ever opening event for the championship 18-hole course, which is oriented around the Snake River and surrounded by picturesque mountains with spectacular views of Lake Dillon. The par-71 course designed by Hurdzan-Fry is ranked by Golf Digest as a Four-Star Course, described as, “Outstanding: Plan your vacation around it.” Though golf will be kicked off this weekend, Keystone Resort plans on opening all of its summer offerings June 15 with the launch of mountain biking, lift operations, kid’s activities and more.
“The lack of spring snow will allow golfers to get out three weeks earlier than last year for their first birdie,” said Keystone Director of Golf Steve Corneillier. “Early season conditions will provide a lot of fun and an opportunity to get out and strike that ball early.”
