Media looking to work on Whistler Blackcomb property are asked to check in with the Public Relations department for permission to work. The resort welcomes all forms of media, accepting applications to create editorial film and television shows, multimedia magazine stories and influencer content. News media will be met by a representative from the Public Relations Department and provided with a liaison. We are happy to help develop stories and look forward to hearing your ideas.

FILMING AT WHISTLER BLACKCOMB
This location no longer accepts applications for commercial shoots. Exclusive access to the mountains is only provided to partner brands. Other commercial work will be redirected to businesses in Whistler and the Sea to Sky Corridor. Several locations happily accept location shoots, so please do consider this region for your advertising film and photo shoots. Contact Christa Vandeberg, at the Resort Municipality of Whistler, and Tourism Whistler for more information.

All editorial proposals for the mountain should be directed to Communications Director Sara Roston, Sara.d.roston@vailresorts.com. Please do so at least one month prior to arrival. Video and film producers, including those working on influencer content, are required to carry general liability insurance. Projects will be asked to:
  • provide $10 million in General Liability Insurance
  • adjust their certificate of insurance to list our company as an entity
  • signed a location agreement
  • possibly fund additional staff needed to execute the project, as assessed by Mountain Safety
  • work with an on site mountain liaison and safety staff throughout
Things to know:
  • Vail Resorts does not charge location fees
  • projects accepted will fit the goals of the Whistler Blackcomb brand and those of Vail Resorts
  • ideal movie projects are scaled to a single scene and showcase Whistler Blackcomb as a distinct, identifiable location
  • a public relations representative will remain onsite with all media members at all times
  • this location typically supports one to two-day shoots and will provide supprts, like tickets and rentals, for projects it accepts
